History:

Krim was born into the Iria clan fifteen years ago. His trace was active from birth, nothing overly surprising in the Iria clan, but his parents took it as an encouraging sign, a way to raise their ranking in the clan. They made raising Krim their main priority for their life, stopping most of their missions. However, as they did have to eat, they took them when they needed money. They were careful to always take missions at different times however; making sure someone was always home with Krim. This was in case one of them was killed; the other could take care of their child. For four years, this system worked. But then they got a bit more relaxed and decided to both go on a mission together, leaving Krim under the care of a good friend of theirs. During the mission, something went wrong. Both his mother and father were caught in a destructive fire. They both died from their wounds, their bodies almost unrecognizable. When this news was brought to the clan, they went to take the child from Shirou Emiya, the friend told to keep an eye on him. However, though he had left the clan and refuted its training, he refused. He stated that he was designated the Krim's guardian and would not forsake that duty until he died. After a heated argument most of the clan stalked off offended by Shirou's refusal. However, one was a friend of Krim's parents as well. She stayed and spoke to Shirou. They came to an agreement, that Shirou would take care of raising Krim, and Tigra would take care of training him in the ways of his clan and jutsu's of his clan. So then Shirou became Krim’s father and Tigra his teacher. Shirou, despite his friendship with them, was nothing like Krim’s biological parents. His goal in life, the reason he left the clan and refused to use their jutsu's, was because he wanted to be a hero. He wanted to save everyone. However, throughout his life, even with his own special development of Phasing chakra, he realized that the hero can only save those that the hero chooses to save. He can't save the ones who do the crime. He can only save those he chooses to save. Throughout his life he continued to save those he could, even if he can only save some. This causes him pain, but he keeps trying to reach his goal nonetheless.

This is the environment that Krim was raised in. At age five, he was already admiring Shirou Emiya's way of life. Shirou was always helping people, regardless of effects on himself. Even then Krim mimicked him. When he went to school, he would get in fights with bullies, trying to protect those weaker than him. More often than not, he would fail and lose fights. So he asked his father to start teaching him. Shirou resisted, not wanting Krim to follow him in his half lifestyle, as well as knowing that Tigra was going to train him in the clan ways once he turned six. However, Krim continued to get in fights and loose, regardless of anything Shirou would say to him. So at that point, Shirou started teaching him how to fight properly, as well as explaining the way he used their shared Souton chakra. Krim wasn't very skilled at applying the concepts that Shirou explained, but he did understand how it 'should' work, and continued to attempt to train it. About three months into their training, the bullies stopped pushing people around in front of Krim. Whenever they did, they got beaten and lost face. Soon, the bullies stopped being mean at all because Krim would hear about it and take the fight to them. Shirou was unwillingly proud of his son for trying to follow in his footsteps, though he knew in the end that it would mean nothing but pain.

At the end of the school term, Krim turned seven and finally started training with their family friend, Tigra. He learned quickly on not to call her by her nickname that many called her, Tiger. Anyone who did regretted it quickly. While adept at using the clan techniques, Tigra had a preference for hand to hand Taijutsu and would happily beat you to a black and blue pulp for teasing her about her name. Of course, behind her back, this did nothing but enhance her reputation as a 'Tiger'. These techniques Krim understood much better than the techniques that Shirou taught him, though he had gained some ability to use what he had explained. Half the time however, he gets stuck half way and has to be rescued by Shirou. Now however, he began to excel in the techniques. Tracing he had already been told about, and used with Shirou's techniques, and was very skilled with. However, this was not where he excelled the most even though he had already unlocked, much to Tigra's surprise, level 2 of his Trace. She taught him the first projection, and he was able to learn it within the day. It just made sense to him. Reinforcement was much harder, and he spent over a month training. Because of how quickly he mastered the jutsu's, Tigra slowed down his training by training him in kenjutsu, something he couldn't learn as quickly because of his bodies limits and the step by step training process.

Three months after he turned eight, he entered the academy. He finally started learning more challenging jutsu's. Mostly, replacement, clone, and transformation. He found himself having greater difficulties with anything requiring regular chakra without element shift because he had never used anything like that before. He was in the academy sooner than most of the other students, but he was slow at learning. He didn't take the exit exam because he knew he wasn't good enough. He spent all year working on his pure chakra jutsu's, Replacement, clone, and transformation. He managed to, over that time, bring them to working order. By the time he was nine, he was ready to take the exam, and leave the academy.

Then Shirou got some kind of illness. The medical ninjas were bemused, and couldn't find a reason why he was sick. Krim left the academy to take care for his sickly father. He worked hard taking care of him, doing the housework, getting side jobs usually involving heavy labor, cooking. Shirou didn't start getting better, despite Krim’s effort. His limbs went lame and his eyesight began to fade. Krim worked feverishly, sending letters to other village healers, trying to find someone who could make his father better. No one could figure out what was wrong. After being ill for nine months however, Shirou figured out the problem himself. He explained it to Krim. The problem was Shirou's early experiments. When he was younger and mastering his jutsu's, some of his ideas failed. What he didn't know is what those failed experiments had on his body. It shortened his bodies internal 'stop clock'. His finished versions of jutsu's didn't shorten his lifespan anymore, luckily; otherwise he would have been dead twenty years earlier. Krim didn't want to accept this, but he also didn't want to upset his father in his last days. Instead, Krim stayed with him the entire time. At the end Shirou spoke about one thing. How he was sad that he never managed to become a true hero, someone who could save everyone he saw. To reassure him, Krim said he would take on his dream, and Shirou died saying, "I am relieved". From this moment, Krim fully shouldered his father’s goal.

He returned to the academy with a renewed vigor as he turned ten. As soon as possible, which ended up being six months later, he took the exams and passed, thanks mostly to his constant training when he was alone. Tigra became a near permanent part of his household, showing up for breakfast and dinner, basically whenever he was home himself… or whenever she wanted to grub food off him. More often than not, she would send academy students, from her new job as a teacher, to bug him for lunch. God help the students whenever he turned her down... so he tried not to turn her down often. He was assigned to a teacher and tested to see if he was ready to be a Genin. Though only barely average on the basic supplementary jutsu's from the academy, he was inventive and he was able to use a few of the jutsu's he learned from Shirou to make up for that. He was passed and became a team with his teacher and two other Genin. One of them, a girl, started coming to his house as well as Tigra, and he found out that she was a student of hers. She, for no reason he could understand, started helping out around the house. In exchange, he taught her to cook, something she knew nothing about. They became pretty good friends thanks to this beneficial relationship.

Throughout the next year, they ended up going on many missions together, starting with the usual simple missions, and building up to more and more challenging as they grew stronger together and as a team. By the time that Krim turned eleven, they were going on missions that varied from tracking down C and D rank missing nin to guarding the passage of different caravans. Each time Krim showed his resourcefulness by using his projection and phasing abilities in effective combinations. He had finally gotten the chakra techniques down fully, and was able to use projecting and phasing with an ease that interested the elders of his 'clan', even though he only vary rarely associated himself with them. When he unlocked the level three trace at twelve, they began assigning people to watch him closely. However, they found this to be pointless for between him, his teammate, and Tigra, they couldn't get close enough to really learn anything about him. The three of them started turning it into a game. Who could find the spy first? Most often, the victor was Tigra, much to the dismay of the spies because she had nothing against practicing Taijutsu on them. He found himself truly having fun, even while trying to achieve his father’s goal. So far however, he had found no way to save everyone, though he tried his hardest. He had never killed any enemy ninja, only captured. However, many of them chose to kill themselves rather than be brought back to Konoha.

On his twelfth birthday, Krim apprenticed himself to a blacksmith, thinking to improve his knowledge of swords. However, he bit off more than he could chew. For the better part of the year, all the time he wasn't spending on missions he was in the smithy, making nails, horseshoes, and other small projects. He never complained however, and worked just as hard as he would on a blade on every nail he made. Surprised by his dedication, for he had thought the boy would quit when he realized it isn't all glory and power, the blacksmith finally taught him the skill of bladesmithing about three months before Krim’s birthday. Knowing the process so intimately increased his familiarity with blades, just as he had expected, and Tigra only then taught him the second level of projection and reinforcement. He had been asking her to teach them to her for many years, not knowing what she was waiting for. Now he understood. He wouldn't have been able to provide the knowledge needed to be able to complete the jutsu, even if he had the skill. However, he was still pissed off that she didn't just tell him that. When he brought this up to her, she simply smiled, no, she showed her teeth like a... Tiger.... and said if he wanted to discuss it to meet her in the training yard. On that note, he went to bed.

Within a month of his thirteenth birthday, he entered the Chunin exams with his team. He found it fairly challenging. The test honesty worried him; he hadn’t realized how much book learning it would take. However, he did pass. The team battles were hardly what he had expected though. They had both scrolls in almost no time at all. It was when the individual battles started that things got interesting. His first battle was too easy. His opponent was a Taijutsu user, and while he was careful not to permanently injure him, he left with a number of gashes from Krim’s Kenjutsu. The second was more challenging. A ranged Ninjutsu user; it took a while to adapt his usual style to fight her. He never really used the chakra strings that attached his blades to him, besides to pull them back to him if he drops it. This time however, he used it along with a burst of chakra to launch blades at the opponent. He managed to disable her this way and then knock her out. The last battle was against one of his teammates. The girl that had been there for him for so long now. He started out the battle enthusiastic, but he found he couldn’t really go all out against her. After a while he found himself surrendering on the excuse of not enough chakra. Nonetheless, he and the girl were both passed onto Chunin.

As a Chunin the missions got even more interesting, and the spies got more inventive. They found they actually had to work to find them and rout them out now. Tigra was really beginning to enjoy herself, and they always knew when a watcher was found by following the yells of pain. It was only now that Krim realized how badly they wanted to keep an eye on him and something occurred to him. He asked Tigra why they didn’t ask her. For once, she actually blushed. After much prodding, she explained that they had asked her and she had refused to talk. Krim was touched by her loyalty and thanked her, only to be blown off and told it was nothing. He knew that was her way though, so he didn’t get offended.

However, Krim began wondering after he turned fourteen if he would ever succeed with his mission at this pace. Sure he was saving who he could, when he could. But he was nowhere near strong enough to save everyone. He wasn’t even strong enough to be able to always save who he tried to save. He decided that he was going to leave. He was tired of dealing with acting under his clans watchful eyes. He knew where the clan main building was and from the ever-talkative Tigra, he had found that there was a scroll that held all the techniques that had been invented by the clan for their projection/reinforcement style. He decided that he would break in, steal it, then leave the village. He didn’t really have any attachment for the village, besides Tigra and his teammate. But his mission came first. Saving the most people he can. After watching for about six months, he timed his break-in and stole the scroll, leaving the village. He was of the desert just like all the sand villagers and had no trouble crossing the desert to the other side. However, he knew nothing about this land that he was in. He didn’t even know if it was inhabited. He explored and found a town. Their language was close, but not the same as his, so he took a few more months to learn the small changes in dialect. Once he was certain of it, he left to go find this powerful city that he was told about.
